I have a large library of books on gardening, but I learned some new info from this little gem. Highly recommended.
Very good ideas and lots of them. A "must have" for gardeners. Very good for people want to do all size gardens
Straightforward and accurate. Great as a reference, especially for beginning gardeners. Appreciate that the author gives organic solutions to common problems.
This book has lots of info on organic gardening. It covers sun, shade, soil types, compost,seedlings, and pest prevention. My only disappointment it neglected plant rotation or companions, with the exception of natural pest repellent plants.
This book contains almost no useful information. It is full of vague, rambling, empty sentences. I could have written a better gardening book as a child.
I'm interested in gardening and horticulture lately (if you must know -- I'm anticipating a food crisis). I've bought this affordable ebook as a basis from which to zoom in on certain fruits and vegetables. I can recommend it for beginners like myself. It has helped me narrow down the list of plants for my climate, prepare the soil for gardening and grow the seeds which requires a bit of patience. It basically takes you by the hand from deciding what to plants to grow through to daily care and preparing for consumption. Four stars.
I've had a vegetable garden for several years now, and I think I've learned the hard way--by following little bits of information here and there on the Internet and through trial and error. It's taken me a few seasons to get my soil the way I want it. This book basically sums up what you need to know to get your garden started and "thriving" quickly.
Choosing the best location for your garden, amending the soil, composting, selecting the right seeds... if you consider all of these things before you start your garden you will save yourself a lot of time and effort! This is a great starter book for anyone wanting to home garden. There are also suggestions for those who do not have a large backyard to plant in...you can even plant a garden in a canoe!
